The Taiwan Policy Centre, together with New Bloom and NüVoices Taipei are hosting a panel discussion on Thursday, May 4th at 7:30pm at the New Bloom’s
DAYBREAK 破曉咖啡 on Bangka Boulevard, No. 110, 1F (台北市萬華區艋舺⼤大道110 號1樓樓) in Taipei City.
The title of the event is: “Taiwan Respected: Listening To Taiwanese On The Identity And Future Of Taiwan And Cross-Strait Relations”.
The panel discussion asks panelists what messages they as Taiwanese want to give politicians and media in the UK about Taiwan’s identities, its place in the world, its status, and its future. The panelists will also be asked what they think other countries can do to help steer Taiwan’s future in the path that retains the consent and self-determination of the Taiwanese.
The discussion will explore the boundaries of what is politically acceptable for Taiwanese according to different future scenarios and try to ascertain if there are any commonly shared red lines or aspirations, and what they would be.
There will also be an opportunity for participants from the UK to ask our panel any questions they may have about Taiwan and the current cross-straits situation, as well as time for questions from the audience.
