To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, with reference to the statement by the Chinese Embassy to the UK entitled Embassy Spokesperson on a Taiwan-related motion concocted by a handful of British MPs, published on 29 November 2024, what the Government’s policy is on whether Taiwan is a province of China.
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs if he will make a statement on his recent visit to China, on China’s reported human rights abuses in Xinjiang, on the case of Jimmy Lai and on sanctions on British parliamentarians.
To ask His Majesty’s Government whether they have investigated reports that China lobbied for the removal of references to Taiwan from material used in schools in connection with GCSE examinations.
To ask His Majesty’s Government what security concerns they raised during the meeting between the Foreign Secretary and the Foreign Minister of China at the ASEAN Foreign Ministers meeting held in Vientiane on 26 July, and whether they discussed the use of Chinese surveillance technology in the UK, the presence of Chinese intelligence agents in the Palace of Westminster, the infiltration by China of research programmes in British Universities, and China’s military threats against Taiwan during this meeting.
To ask His Majesty’s Government what assessment they have made of the judicial guidelines issued by China on 21 June and of the implications for British citizens who support the Taiwanese democratically-elected government.

To ask His Majesty’s Government what plans they have to deploy UK Armed Forces to the Indo-Pacific region to help counter the threat from China to Taiwan.
